Well, since InTheSpirt was originally put together as a community mailing list, the assumption we make is that everyone who sends in advertising (of any sort) is a member of the community. That means you are automatically subscribed to our mailing list and will receive the announcements with your ad.
If you wish to unsubscribe (why???) you always can, just wait until your advertising run is finished.
Is the Free Classified a trial or temporary offer?
Nope. The Free Classified ads are one of the ways we give back to the community. Jenny began the W.I.L.D. Women networking as a way to give back and we are determined that the central focus for InTheSpirit is how we can serve the community.
Does adding someone to the Prayerlist cost anything?

What is the advertising submission deadline?
All advertisements (regardless if they're paid or free) are due on the Friday before publication. The exception is for those who wish to have their ads go out on a specific day. THEN the ads are due either the Friday before publication OR two (2) business days before.

You'll see it in the next week's mailing. If you send in an ad on Tuesday, then it won't have time to be added to this week's mailing (as the deadline is the Friday of the week before publication)

That's the point. Feel free to advertise anything you want – nothing illegal or obscene.
And before you ask, politics (and related or associated issues) is considered obscene as far as InTheSpirit is concerned. There are plenty of other forums where you can post that information. We made a decision early on that this would be a politics free zone. And if you know John, you realize the sacrifice he's made to do this...

Despite what some people would have you think, direct sales companies or affiliate marketing is a great way to earn a living. That being said, there is one point to watch out for.
Often these companies (in the guise of "giving you a web site") will send everyone to the same website. Usually the only difference (if there is one) is a line near the top saying "Independent Distributor" if even that.
That's perfectly legit. It's when a person (or more than one) sends in a free classified that ultimately ends up all going to the same website that there is a problem.
Multiple ads all going to the same webpage are SPAM. Even though you don't mean it, and indeed you are separate businesses. You may not even know each other!**
So what we've decided to do is make it a first come — first serve basis. At least as far as listing the website. So please be sure to list alternate contact information (like a phone number). The ad will still run, just not with the website listed.
Please note: showcasing specific (and different) products which bring readers to specific (and different) pages inside a web site is perfectly acceptible (and encouraged).
** What makes it a problem is that WE at ITSM get flagged as spam by our readers...And that's A PROBLEM.
Do I need to send in my free classified ad every week?
Only if you want it to run every week. <smile> Anything sent in by Friday will run the following week. BUT your job is to send in an ad every week.
